Title:

Strength and durability of glued wood Part two: Glue joint strength testing methods

Abstract:

This paper presents the results of investigation of methods for testing wood gluing strength. Development of testing methods has been presented through the analyses of factors affecting the results of testing. The existing standard test methods have been discussed as well as the development of new testing methods. The possibilities of using the methods will be of great benefit in production and new product development. The properties of glued wood can be determined in different ways depending on the force direction. Usually the strength is tested by using the shear force as the best way of application.
