Abstract:

Wood finishing is a very important feature for the aestetic and protective improvement of wooden products and the increase of their market value. Recently, in selecting the coats for finishing of wooden products, a strong stress has been put on environmental factors and a trend of using biomaterials. In the sphere of stains-paints, the use of water stains, alcoholic stains, composite stains and stains based on wax have been confirmed. The application of nitro and acid-hardening laquers declines in popularity, particularly because of environmental requirements. Polyurethane and waiter lacquers, lacquers hardened by UV-rays, lacquers with special effects and »bio« lacquers are becoming more and more important.
